This is the second in the series. Suitable for a young reader, no sexual scenes or strong language.As an adult, although I wasn't that intrigued by the first book, I downloaded this second book to see where the plot would go. And mostly because I really like Dragons, being a fan of the Pern series from way back. I was hoping that the characters would achieve more depth in the second installment, but unfortunately that really wasn't the case. The plot does have enough action to keep a young reader interested.
This seems to be a good series for a young reader, so I give it an "OK" rating.

I really enjoyed this series. the action was smooth and constant with enough character interaction to make it interesting.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the first one. The story isn't as complex as some stories and the characters not worked out in quite as much detail as some. But still very enjoyable.
Thank goodness the effects of silver can be overcome by a brave and noble heart! I really enjoyed reading Valley of Silver! Linda McNabb is a great storyteller and I would definitely recommend this story to anyone that likes dragons and fantasy worlds.
Red Dragons got thier butts kicked by silver, apprentice, and a couple of young girls.What's not to like? Ya Hoo
I enjoyed the development of characters in this book. I liked that there were bad guys that didn't have to swear, and good guys that had flaws and made mistakes. Fun read.
I enjoy fantasy and dragon subjects in particular. Anne McCaffry's Dragons of Pern books are some of my favorites. Valley of Silver is similar but more for 5th or 6th grade level readers. It has a great plot with lots of action. Students that enjoy fantasy and dragon stories will enjoy this book.
Book two of the series and carries on straight after the first book. The Red Dragons, who love the heat and the stench of volcanos, want to make the land into one large magma pit by reigniting all the dormant volcanos throughout the land. Of course this will destroy all the cities and towns, and the people who live in them. Logan and his friends must try and stop them, but what can they do against hundreds, if not thousands of huge Red Dragons?
Aimed at young adults, it is still a good read for anyone, of any age. Worth reading.
